My research and teaching reflect my interests in the intersection of infectious diseases of humans and animals and conservation biology.       
We use an interdisciplinary approach to investigate the ecology of infectious diseases at population and community level interactions between hosts and their pathogens of humans and wildlife diseases. We seek to understand the role of infectious disease in wildlife conservation, the influence of ecological community structure on disease transmission dynamics, and zoonoses at the human,
wildlife, and domestic animal interface. We also explore the ecotoxicology of environmental pollutions including pesticides and microplastics.
I teach a wide variety of courses at the University of Peradeniya including Applied Parasitology, Vector-Borne Diseases, Research Methods and Data Analysis, Scientific Writing.
